Tuesday night at Subrosa in Manhattan held a celebration for one of the greatest publications of our generation. HRDCVR is a cultural magazine that is founded by Elliott Wilson and Danyel Smith and their mission is “to change the soul of journalism.” The event was sponsored by Hennessy and Moët & Chandon and was filled with tastemakers of different backgrounds from writers to designers to producers. DJ Austin Millz was on the 1’s and 2’s making everyone dance and overall enjoy the ambiance of the night. Elliott and Danyel made their appearance and the room filled with applause. After Danyel and Sylvia Rhone (google her) both give tear jerking words of inspiration on stage, everyone goes back to partying. Then the moment came to grab my very own HRDCVR copy-I received number 257 of 2000. After indulging in too many free drinks and Danyel and Elliott signing my magazine I’m back to the streets of Manhattan.
Opening up the pages of the magazine you automatically recognize the flawless execution. The stories featured are of cities from around the U.S. highlighting important culture and events in these places, LA Clipper player, Jamal Crawford, getting inspired, Sasha and Malia Obama, a social-musical ethno-cultural history of Drake and more. If you are about the culture then this is a publication you need on your bookshelf or coffee table. Purchase your very own HRDCVR here.
