Rostrum Records soul signee, Mike Taylor, infuses house, gospel and reggae to create his new energized track, “Electric Church”, premiered via Billboard. He promotes coming together through rhythm and dance and communicating with our body language. Taylor tells Billboard that the track was inspired by a quote from late house music pioneer Frankie Knuckles stating, “[He] compared house music to church because of what he referred to as ‘spiritual unity.’ All my life, I felt that spiritual connection to music and never knew what it was or how to articulate the feeling into words.” The Philly native has gained notoriety from organizing legendary house parties to raise funds for his community, being featured on Afrojack’s hit “Summerthing” and getting a remix of his track “World Is Our Playground” from DJ Vice. Taylor’s Rostrum Records debut is slated to release later this year.
