It’s another hump day and I am realizing that September is flying by! Can it please slow down? Anywho. On Sunday, I was in the mood to listen to nothing but R&B for some reason and the tracks brought back so many memories and emotions. Then this gave me the inspiration to create a list for Wind It Back Wednesday. My fave period of R&B is without a doubt the early 2000’s because there was so much girl power centered around this time. Even though I was only 7 years old when 2000 hit, you couldn’t tell me sh*t when it came to love, partying with friends, men, heartbreak, being independent, sexy and more. Honestly, these songs and many more built to me what a strong woman stands for. The following video list is compiled off of those above reasons and also aesthetics. I remember watching these videos wanting to look just like these beautiful women from their hair to the outfit. To this day, I still pull from this time for my everyday style. Enjoy my fave early 2000’s bops featuring the likes of Aaliyah, Teairra Marie, Toni Braxton, Destiny’s Child, Blu Cantrell and more.
